SOHA Charity Fashion Show!

Last night, Christopher and I attended the SOHA {Style Omaha/Help All} charity fashion show with some friends. All proceeds went to benefit the Abide Network, which has a mission to eliminate inner city in Omaha, one neighborhood at a time, by involving caring people in the lives of children, youth, and families in under-resourced areas. There was a great turn out and the event was so much fun. Our friends, who are frequently mentioned on our blog, the Hootons, were the photographers behind all the promotional material. They took incredible photographs of the models wearing the different designers, made introductory videos for each catwalk and also created a commercial for the event. Their work beautifully contributed to the ambiance of the show. The SOHA event was just another event, in a series of events, that have us consistently falling in love with Omaha.

This guy looked EXACTLY like my little brother. It was really bizarre.

My date. He was super gentleman-like. He let me wear his coat, held the doors open
and even paid for dinner! I hope he asks me out again.

The spring will come soon. We will have more birthdays.

Lucky for us, the elder Jacobys were in town long enough to have a pre-birthday celebration for Brittany's upcoming bday! Christopher put together the birthday afternoon, complete with family, gourmet cupcakes, party hats, noise makers and presents! Then we went to Dundee Memorial Park and played around after-which, Grandma and Grandpa treated us to delicious birthday burgers.

Sauntering Streets

While Grandma and Grandpa Jacoby were in town, we wanted to show them some of our favorite places. We spent a whole day adventuring the cobblestone streets through antique stores, candy shops, arcades, and ice cream parlors.

Easter Sunday

Sorry for the week long silence on our blog. We've had an exciting week full of visits from loved ones, a holiday, a birthday celebration, park adventures, zoo adventures etc. etc. I figure it's best to break up the week into separate posts, as I did with our California trip. So, we'll start with Easter! Lucky for us, the night before Easter, Grandma and Grandpa Jacoby flew in and so did our little Olive! They got in fairly late, so we hugged and talked and then everyone went to bed to rest up for the Easter festivities. Here are some pictures of our holiday:

Grandma and Poppy waiting for pancakes.

After breakfast we dug into our baskets to see what goodies the bunny left!

Grandpa and Grandma even got some treats!

Then Olive dyed the eggs and the bunny came back and hid them when we weren't looking!

Later in the evening, we had some friends over to enjoy an Easter feast with us. The food turned out great and the company was even better. Thanks for coming, Mike, Alana and Dirk!

Oh, and you can't have a post about Easter without the Easter cake!
